When a stock gets listed on the stock exchange post its IPO, it begins trading from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Before regular trading starts, there is a pre-open session from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, during which the following activity take place.
Below is the timeline of activities during the pre-open session:

| 9:00 AM to 9:35 AM | Only limit orders for new listings (IPOs) and re-listed instruments can be placed, modified, or cancelled. |
| 9:35 AM to 9:45 AM | Only limit orders can be placed, modified, or cancelled. However, the system will randomly close all pending orders between 9:35 AM and 9:45 AM. |
| 9:45 AM to 9:55 AM | The exchange conducts the order matching process to determine the stock’s opening price. |
| 9:55 AM to 10:00 AM | A buffer period to ensure a seamless transition to live trading. No order activity is permitted during this phase. |
| 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM | Normal market hours begin. Orders can be freely placed, modified, or cancelled. |
