What is 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) and why is it required?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security feature designed to add an extra layer of protection to your trading account. After you enter your account password, 2FA requires you to verify your identity using a second factor, such as:

• A One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number and email.

• TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) you can get from your authenticator.

This ensures that even if someone obtains your password, they cannot access your account without the second verification step. Enabling 2FA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access and strengthens the overall security of your account.

2FA is required as SEBI and exchanges mandate 2FA for enhanced account security.
