Why don’t some stocks have Futures and Options contracts available?

Futures and Options (F&O) contracts are offered only for a selected group of listed securities on the exchange, as well as certain key indices like Nifty, Bank Nifty, Nifty Midcap Select, FinNifty, Bankex, and Sensex.

If you can’t find F&O contracts for a stock—even after entering the correct name—it usually means that the stock is not eligible for trading in the F&O segment. This is because SEBI enforces specific guidelines to determine which securities qualify for F&O trading, based on factors such as liquidity, market capitalization, and price movement.
